This restaurant is nicely nestled in Landmark Village Hotel (formerly known as Golden Landmark Hotel), next to Raffles Hospital. The entrance to the hotel lobby is kind of hidden, so Jeff got a bit lost. It's right at the other side, nearer to the Arab Street shops. Once you enter the lobby, take the lift up to the 5th floor and you'll see the restaurant right away! Angela and I were the earliest, we reached at 640pm and the restaurant was empty and not really fully set up yet. By the way, I love the wallpaper!

This was placed right in the middle of our table. We eventually took it away coz it wasn't functional and it was taking up space. :D

I love such lamps! Reminds me of Turkey haha. I have a special love for Turkey after reading The Historian. ha. Ok, ignore me.

The rest arrived shortly and after a round of intro to Angela and Royston who joined us for the first time, we started!!

NAAN!! Mix of plain and garlic. Yes the plain ones were on the left. Obvious right?

Doris - full marks for the garlic naans, and declared her undying love for them.
Claudia gave a 4.5 out of 5.
Angela's comments - Aromatic!
Royston's comment - Crispy and taste great with spicy curry gravy
My comment - Why can't I eat 10 at one go!!!

They just look so pretty that I can't stop taking pics! Oh by the way, those naans are served piping hot. And i Love them with mint yogurt chutney (pic coming right up).

Papadum - 4 out of 5. This is a hot favourite among many of us and it goes well with every kind of gravy and dip! can't go wrong!

Ah ha, here's my mint yogurt chutney! I added finely chopped onion and cucumber in, along with green chilli! I can just eat this from the spoon! Jeff tried this for the first time and commented that it's pretty appetizing. I do agree!

Took a snap of Royston's plate while he was chatting with Jeff. Royston is a meat lover btw.

Fish Methi (fish flavoured with fenugreek, a kind of herb) - Decent, soft, not very spicy. I love the milky colour though. :D

My chicken. I find them very tender, juicy and tasty! Angela's chicken were a bit dry though. perhaps the ones I took were the more juicy parts. Royston declared his undying love for this.

My 2nd helping of yogurt dip, this time added with plain yogurt and green chilli :)

Doris took this for Jeff. We went 'WOW' and Jeff started groaning. lol. I did not take the rice. Mixed comments on the rice though - Angela found it OK only, Royston said it was tasteless, but Claudia gave a 4.5 and Doris gave a 4! Jeff commented that he has tasted better bryani rice.

Nice colours. Okay, i'm a sucker for nice colours.

This is the start of the buffet line. This is my favourite portion, with all the yogurt chutney, raw onions and green chilli :D

Mixed Vegetable Jalfrezi. I love broccoli, so I gave a 4. Doris too! The vegetables are tasty and crunchy.

This is the most talked about dish, i believe. Gulab Jamun!
Intro of the dish (taken from Wikipedia) - It is made of a dough consisting mainly of milk solids, traditionally, khoya, an Indian milk product (buffalo milk) is rolled into a ball together with some flour and then deep fried. It is then put into in a sugar syrup flavored with cardamom seeds and rosewater, kewra or saffron.

Jeff and I love this.
The rest found it too sweet and rich. Angela found the taste too strange for her liking.
Verdict - it's either u love it or u hate it.

Remaining of the tandoori chicken in the pot.

Comments on Mutton Korma (pic not taken) - mutton taste too strong and the meat is pretty tough.

Ladies first :)

Being a buffet place, it is only natural that you sit there the whole night without worrying about being chased out. With good company, the food tasted even better! The highlight of the whole dinner session was actually the endless chatter and frequent laughter coz all of us found out so many different foodie opinions from one another. Very very enriching session, I would say!

As for the food itself, I personally found North Indian buffet less jelat than Chinese buffet (dim sum/ ala carte) and I really have no idea why! Perhaps it's a personal preference, or maybe Chinese food contains too much batter at times.

Oh that night when we were there, we were surrounded by so many Indian tourists, who were brought there for dinner by their tour groups. I personally found it very nice coz it really made me feel that I was in India haha, while a few of us found it rather disturbing. Even though the servers and managers were very busy due to the large tourist crowds, they remained very polite and jovial. I've always found Indian service staff more professional, from previous experiences!
~
Conclusion - i'm definitely going back there again, it's value-for-money and food is decent! Not sure about the rest though!
